LACOSTE MANCHESTER

RETAIL /

DesignLSM have been working with Lacoste since 2001, to bring their iconic stores to life with stylish and effective design schemes, which showcase the brand’s high quality and timeless products. The redesign of Lacoste in the Trafford Centre, Manchester, required a focus on light and colour, whilst retaining a clean, clutter-free finish. The popular boutique is the first Lacoste outlet to house the brand’s new design concept, which is set to roll out across all UK stores.

The client wished to expand the brand’s retail space within the existing 85sqm unit, maximising surface area for product display and increasing the store’s efficiencies. The contemporary and streamlined store design showcases the colourful garments and products, making them centre stage and the consumers’ main focus. To render these colours to full potential, Optelma utilised the Xicato Artist chip, with a CRI of 98+. This ensured that vibrance and colour contrast was at it’s best, making each product pop and glow.

To enhance the space, the stores were stripped back to the original shell, replacing the curved walls with flat units and an array of new features and finishes that included bespoke concrete wall fixtures and light timber flooring. Optelma’s KARMA downlights provide a flush recessed LED product with no loss of light in the ceiling void. The adjustable gimbal system comes completely out of the ceiling and allows the spotlight to be tilted, rotated and oriented along any axis.

The overall design scheme is elegantly practical, displaying products beautifully, creating an enticing and effortless journey for Lacoste’s customers.
