The Marriott Hotel Lingfield was built as part of an extensive redevelopment of Lingfield Park Racecourse. Optelma worked with lighting designers Cundall Light4 to create an efficient, flexible lighting scheme that would capture the glamour and excitement of the races.
 
The Marriott Hotel Lingfield offers 116 luxurious guest rooms; a spa and leisure club; a championship 18 hole golf course; extensive dining facilities, including the Cyprium Bar & Grill; and a range of conference and banqueting suites.
 
Many areas, including the hotel entrance, the main public facilities, and the ground-floor bar and restaurant, are designed as multi-functional spaces. This required a more versatile lighting scheme and interior to adapt to race day requirements, providing additional hospitality space and facilities.
 

Optelma’s Quad 62 linear system provides functional and comfortable lighting to the hotel’s front desk and the Breathe Spa & Leisure Club. Textured walls in the Spa and behind the front desk are washed with light to reveal their shape, adding drama and dynamism to the spaces. Lines of light within the more open spaces create a striking aesthetic, while providing ambient light. The Quad 62 gives each area a contemporary feel using edge-to-edge LED lighting with a clean, homogenous light effect.
 
Optelma also manufactured an elegant family of bespoke ring pendants for the restaurant, in a range of sizes. To complement the interior, the finishes of the pendants are matt black and copper, a recurring theme throughout the hospitality areas, which ties the scheme together. Tailor-made for this project, the Lingfield’ pendant proved a popular decorative solution, and has now joined Optelma’s standard range.
